Norfolk Events Company Appointed To Manage Exclusive New Venue For The Region

Norfolk event management company, Softley Events, is delighted to announce that it has been appointed to manage Sennowe Park as an exclusive events venue.

Located in the heart of Norfolk just outside the picturesque village of Guist, the magnificent family home was built by Thomas Albert Cook, grandson of Thomas Cook, the famous originator of modern day travel and founder of his namesake travel firm. Completed in 1907, it is one of Norfolk’s finest Edwardian country houses and is still very much a family home, lived in by the descendants of Thomas Cook.

Sennowe Park is a private residence and, as such, it is not open to the public, but Softley Events is honoured to have been appointed by the family to manage the house and park as an exclusive location for events.

The superb country house, which is bursting with intricate and original detail, including oak panelling, stained glass windows, impressive roof statues and ornate carved ceilings, has been painstakingly cared for by the family. Many of the rooms feature original decor such as the wallpaper, murals or bathroom tiles, which seamlessly blend with more modern luxuries, such as walk-in showers and plush carpets.

Every room also boasts spectacular views across the acres of mature gardens and park which surround the house. As well as the tiered lawns with original stone balustrade and stone steps leading to each level, there is a tranquil lake with its own boathouse and extensive parkland adorned with mature trees. The exquisite ‘winter garden’ also offers an ideal retreat to cope with the British weather; with glass walls and ceiling, and marble columned fountain, it creates an indoor sanctuary whilst retaining the atmosphere of being outside.

Charlie & Virginia Temple-Richards, owner of Sennowe Park, said:

“We are delighted to appoint Softley Events to manage events taking place here at Sennowe Park. Although it is still very much our family home, we have made the decision to open the house and grounds for a limited number of bookings each year and we obviously want to ensure that we offer a professional service to guests visiting us. We met Sarah Softley some years ago and know that her eye for detail and the attention she affords to each and every aspect of her work will ensure that events taking place here at Sennowe Park will be expertly managed.”

With their wealth of experience, Softley Events have created a unique venue management service, designed for the owners of large private houses and unusual venues who either already hire their land and property for events or who are considering this option. The service aims to relieve the owners of the time consuming and often stressful job of managing and hosting events, giving them peace of mind that their interests and the interest of their clients are being looked after before and during their event. Softley Events works hand-in-hand with the venues they manage; organising site visits for interested clients, making all the arrangements for events, such as hiring caterers, booking entertainment and sourcing marquees, and they also provide an event manager for every event, to ensure it runs smoothly.

Softley Events are delighted to add Sennowe Park to their portfolio of venues of distinction, which already includes Kimberley Hall, including the contemporary West Wing at Kimberley Hall, Coston Lakes, Dragon Hall in Norwich City Centre and St George’s Distillery.

Sarah Softley, Director of Softley Events, said:

“We are always particularly honoured when we are asked to manage properties which are family homes. Hosting events on one’s own property can seem intrusive but we work extremely hard to ensure that the family’s privacy is maintained, whilst delivering an outstanding and memorable event for the client. The house and grounds at Sennowe Park provide a unique setting for an event of any kind, so we very much look forward to giving our clients the option of booking this exceptional venue.”
