A great start to 2010

Happy New Year. With the arrival of a new year and decade I am very excited about the future of Softley Events. As well as many private and corporate events already booked for the year ahead we have several public events that we are very excited about. I am very proud to be chairing the committee of the Think Pink Ball once again this year. This year we are raising money for 3 breast cancer charities. This is an incredibly popular event and more details can be found in the news section and on our events section. Do book your tickets early as we are always oversubscribed. We are also delighted to once again be helping Wymondham Rugby Club with their Annual Players Dinner which this year will see former British Lion Scott Quinell as the speaker. Again details can be found on our events page.

This Friday I have been invited by BBC Radio Norfolk to once again be a 'Lady at Lunch' on their first program of the new year. This is always good fun and do listen in if you can between 12 and 1pm - who knows what we will be talking about.

Happy Christmas

After a very busy 2009 our events for the festive period are drawing to an end. This year we have been very lucky to work in some stunning locations with some fantastic clients and all those who have worked on the events either front of house or behind the scenes are to be congratulated on a very successful year. Hours can be very long in this business and I hope that they all enjoy a rest over the Christmas season.

So what is in store for 2010. As well as many weddings, parties and corporate events we are also delighted to be working with Wymondham Rugby Club on their very popular annual Players Dinner, further details of which can be found on our calender, and will also be organising their Summer Ball . Then of course there is the Think Pink Ball which will be held on Friday 10th Septemebr 2010. Further details will be released in the New Year but do put this in your diary as tickets are always snapped up when released.

It just remains to wish you a very happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.  19 December 2009.

Events and thinking pink

The last couple of weeks have once again proved very busy for Softley Events with several events including a most moving civil ceremony and reception in Suffolk. Our clients had a stunning harvest theme with paths lined with 150,uncarved pumpkins, colourful berries and autumn leaves and sumptuous Louis Ghost chairs.

As well as many events we have been busily finalising our new website which we are very excited about and which we hope will offer our clients, prospective and current with more up to date information about our services and events.

As some of you will know we help to host the Think Pink Ball in aid of breast cancer charities and we are delighted to say that we have now begun to plan Think Pink 2010. I have been very lucky in life and donating our services is my way of giving something back whilst seeing a great number of people having a fantastic time. We will of course be releasing details over the coming months but can promise that Think Pink 2010 will be very exciting and different.

New contract with usual venue

We are delighted to announce that we have secured a further venue to add to our list of country houses, historical and unsual venues. St George's Distillery at East Harling is the only whisley distillery in England and is set in beuatiful grounds. Available to hire for weddings and corporate events either in the building itself or in a marquee in the grounds. We are delighted to be working with owner Andrew Nelstrop and his family in what is surely one of the most orginal venues in the county.

We've moved

After many months of searching for the perfect place for us to expand our operation we have at last moved into our new offices. Having worked from home for the last  4 years it has been a very exciting development. Our new office is situated in the small village of Mattishall which is only 20 minutes from the centre of Norwich and is surrounded by farmland. It really is ideal. Our team is soon to expand again with the appointment of an administrator as well as another event manager so we are all set for an even better 2010.
