Softley Events is delighted to announce that they have confirmed England Rugby World Cup star, Matt Dawson, to appear as guest speaker at the upcoming Wymondham Rugby Club players’ dinner.

The evening, which will be the Club’s 17th annual dinner, will be held on 10th May 2012 and this is the third consecutive year that Softley Events has had the privilege of organising this prestigious event for the Norfolk sporting calendar. Once again, guests will be treated to a sumptuous dinner prepared by celebrity chef Chris Coubrough and his team from the Flying Kiwi Inns before Matt entertains with his after dinner speech.

Boasting 77 appearances for England, Matt is England’s most capped scrum half and has captained the side 9 times. He played for Northampton and the London Wasps as well as England, and represented the British & Irish Lions on three tours. He also captained the England Rugby team to win the Six Nations Championships in 2000.

Matt is now known as much for his rugby coverage for the BBC and as a team captain on ‘A Question of Sport’. In 2006 he further elevated himself from well-known rugby player to national TV personality when he took part in the BBC’s ‘Celebrity Masterchef’ and again when he put on his dancing shoes to become the runner up on the hit show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

Wymondham Rugby Club is also delighted to confirm that Leathes Prior and Williams Lea  will be joint headline sponsors for the event, contributing towards costs of the evening, to ensure profits from the sale of tickets are maximised which will provide vital funds for the for the ongoing success of the Club. Additional sponsorship has also been provided by Softley Events, who have once again offered their services for free.’

Tickets to the Wymondham Rugby Club 2011 Dinner are now available, in tables of 8 or 10. The cost is £55.00 per person, with a £5.00 early booker discount, on all tickets booked before 31st January 2012.
